The best roller coasters in the UK, ranked
Achtbaan published a guide that ranks the best roller coasters in the UK by thrill score, from Big One and The Smiler to Stealth and Colossus.
Achtbaan has published a guide to the best roller coasters in the UK, ranked by the site's thrill score.
The United Kingdom has more coasters in Achtbaan's catalogue than any other European country: twelve, in just three parks. Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach leads with 46 out of 100, a point ahead of The Smiler at Alton Towers, whose 14 inversions are the joint world record. The guide says plainly that Big One's lead rests on a disputed top speed; on the lower figure The Smiler would come first. Alton Towers has six of the twelve and Thorpe Park four, including Stealth and Colossus.
While preparing it, Achtbaan corrected the figures for eight UK coasters against their published statistics, including the inversions of Saw and the height of Th13teen. Read it at achtbaan.com.
